The Fargo Public Library will present a lecture by Dr. James Kaplan, professor emeritus at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Dr. Kaplan will speak on Swedish and Norwegian Crime Thrillers Today.

These detective novels are enjoying a world-wide vogue right now and have had huge successes as books, on TV and in films. Featured will be the Norwegian authors Jo Nesbø, Karin Fossum, and Anne Holt and the Swedish authors Stieg Larsson, Henning Mankell and Camilla Läckberg.

Detective novels offer a fine opportunity to learn about the real lives of Scandinavian people today, and, of course, they are a lot of fun to read. The lecture will be held at the Main Fargo Public Library. It is free and open to the public.
