The exhibition features a remarkable collection of artifacts from World War II, original art for the film Pinocchio by Gustaf Tenggren, sandals worn by Greta Garbo, vintage SAAB parts and mid-century modern furniture. A Century in the Making: 100 Years of ASHM

Discover how a century of change has shaped ASHM into the Museum you know today. The special Museum-wide exhibition A Century in the Making: 100 Years of ASHM invites visitors to journey through time and see how the American Swedish Historical Museum has evolved with a dynamic blend of past and present through rarely seen artifacts, captivating photographs, and personal stories. The exhibition includes original oil paintings of the 1926 Sesquicentennial Exposition on loan from the Atwater Kent Collection at Drexel University. This once-in-a-century exhibit looks to the past, honors, the present, and invites visitors to imagine ASHM's next 100 years. A Century in the Making: 100 Years of ASHM will be on view throughout the Museum galleries and around the Museums balcony space from May 10, 2026 to January 10, 2027. Admission is included with ASHM general tickets. ASHM is open Tuesday through Sunday 10:00 am 4:00 pm. The exhibit is made possible by grants from the Philadelphia Funders Collaborative for the Semiquincentennial and SWEA New Jersey. Funding for the American Swedish Historical Museum is supported by grants from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Cultural Fund, the ASHM Auxiliary, Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation, Midsommarklubben, Red Moose Charitable Trust, and an anonymous foundation.

19th U.S. National Kubb Championship

The U.S. National Kubb Championship started in 2007 with 15 teams and 35 players. The U.S National Kubb Championship is the oldest and largest kubb tournament outside Europe and one of the three largest in the world. In 2024, we set a World Record for the largest 3+ person kubb tournament, with 144 teams, and matched it in 2025. This year, registration filled up in only 15 hours. Film Screening of BEYOND THE VISIBLE: HILMA AF KLINT (2019, Zeitgeist Films, 93 min.) Swedish painter and mystic Hilma af Klint (1862-1944) was an abstract artist before the term existed, a visionary, trailblazing figure who, inspired by spiritualism, modern science, and the riches of the natural world around her, began in 1906 to reel out a series of huge, colorful, sensual, strange works without precedent in painting. The subject of a recent smash retrospective at the Guggenheim Museum, af Klint was for years an all-but-forgotten figure in art historical discourse, before her long-delayed rediscovery. Holiday Gift Show

The popular Holiday Gift Show is a highlight with work of over 50 invited artists are represented in the show and include paintings, prints, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, mixed media pieces, and more. Wonderful, unique gifts for discerning shoppers can be found at the Holiday Gift Show. The Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery is located at 401 N. First Street. St. Lucia Festival

A favorite Swedish holiday tradition, also observed in Lindsborg, is St. Lucia Festival celebrating the figure that is the emblem of light on a long winter day. The day begins at 10:00am with live holiday music downtown. Folkdancers, live Scandinavian music, and a processional of girls in white carrying candles and stjärngosse (star boys) lead the crowd to the Bethany Lutheran Church where the annual St. Lucia is honored with a crown of candles. Heritage Christmas

The Lindsborg Old Mill & Swedish Heritage Museum will be filled with the sights and sounds of an old-fashioned prairie Christmas. Enjoy a shepherd sharing the traditional Christmas story in the stable, a guided tour of the historic Smoky Valley Roller Mills, Santa Claus, childrens crafts and cookie decorating. Ring in the holiday season with this memorable family event! Follow the glowing lanterns from activity to activity in historic buildings from 5:30-8:00 pm.
