Environmental groups in both Denmark and Sweden want better protection for the strait between the two countries.
Environmental organizations in Sweden and Denmark want to make resund (the sound that separates the two countries) a protected marine area. The majority of the municipalities in both countries are keen to the idea, and it is now up to the governments to think over the proposal. The thought is to preserve the sound long-term. We need mutual regulations in how we handle this, says Peter Gransson, chairman of the organization resundsfonden, who took the initiative.
