Also, Swedish cinematographer Linus Sandgren was nominated for his work on La La Land, and songwriters and producers Max Martin and Shellback (Karl Johan Schuster) were nominated for their original song in collaboration with Justin Timberlake, "Cant Stop the Feeling in Trolls.
Sweden has had 15 nominations for Best Foreign Language film before and has left with the statuette four times, the last time in 1988 for director Bille Augusts Danish-Swedish film Pelle the Conqueror (Pelle Ervraren).
Nordstjernan met up with A Man Called Ove's director Hannes Holm and actors Bahar Pars and Rolf Lassgrd while they were in New York last year, just before the movie was declared Best European Comedy at EFA, the European Oscars, in 2016.
