Hundreds of fans went to Arlanda airport on Sunday to welcome home Sweden’s newest hero: Eurovision winner Måns Zelmerlöw. Eyes all over Europe were watching on Saturday, May 23 when the Eurovision Song Contest finals took place in Vienna, Austria. Måns Zelmerlöw, 28, a pop singer from Lund, was one of the favorites among the 40 countries competing, singing “Heroes,” a catchy, uptempo song that’s gotten popular in Stockholm. But most of all it was Zelmerlöw's stage show that no doubt played a part in his sweeping victory in Eurovision, known in Sweden as Melodifestivalen.

He won the competition ahead of Russia and Italy, and Zelmerlöw still can’t quite believe what he has achieved: “When you consider that Eurovision has been going on for 60 years and we only had five Swedish winners until now, then it becomes very apparent that this is great.”
 And his fans can't agree more.
