Nearness to water and good views are important factors and Stockholm prices aren't that far from New York..

The website Booli.se has listed the ten most expensive streets to live in Stockholm. The absolutely most expensive apartments can be found on Singelbacken, where the price per square meter (1 square meter is 10.7 square feet), is SEK 112,913 ($16,727).
Even if you could afford it, it may not be possible to buy an apartment there, says Boolis Managing Director Anders Kyhlstedt. There is nothing for sale there at the moment. Well, there are other streets if you have the dough. You can, for instance buy a 4-room apartment on Nordenskildsgatan for SEK 14.5 million ($2.14 million). That will get you 145 square meters (1,560.76701 square feet) and a great panoramic view of Beckholmen, Waldermarsudde, Nybroviken and Slussen. And youll have banker and industrialist Marcus Wallenberg as a neighbor. If youre interested then act now, only once or twice a year is there something available there, Kyhlstedt advices. How about beautiful Strandvgen then - where stars like Per Gessle (of Roxette) and action actor Dolph Lundgren both have apartments? Strandvgen is the fourth most expensive street in Stockholm. The asking price here is an average of SEK 19,113,158 ($2,828,000). Per square meter that is SEK 96,692 ($14,300). Kyhlstedt says the nearness to the water and good views are important factors in why these apartments are so expensive. We'll take you through some of the expensive areas of Stockholm in the next Stockholm Walkabout
