Electro-pop duo, jonka steps to the island of Manhattan for an evening of electro-pop, visions and hope!
Upbeat danceable music with live video projections!
Brooklyn electro-pop duo Jonka recently released their debut album, “Slow and Steady Wins the Race”. A 9 song LP of upbeat and introspective musings. Reoccurring themes of hope and love permeate the album. This isn’t surprising since the boy-girl duo also happen to be a married couple.
Jonka has been performing together for years under different names from New York City to Stockholm, Sweden where Annika, one half of the duo was born.
Jonka is a love story. The grandson of a blind subway musician. A Kindergarten teacher from Brooklyn. They found love and they found a voice. A marriage of pop, synthesizers, dance and rock.
Jonka grew up in the 1980's at a time when music emanated a larger than life sound. This permeates the music. Catchy. Upbeat. Fun. You can’t help but love it.
Jonka’s debut album, "Slow and Steady Wins the Race" is now on itunes, amazon and cdbaby.com. Jonka’s first single and music video for “The Nana Song” is steadily makings its way through the web, college radio, blogs and podcasts around the world. For a sound bite: http://www.myspace.com/jonkamusic
