A Viking Re-enactment Fest is hosted by The Scandinavian Club, 1351 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield, Ct, Sat 21 Aug 10-5, and Sun 22 Aug, NOON - 4.

The Opening Ceremonies with Fairfield's First Selectman Flato are Sat 21 Aug @ 10am. Vikings, North America "Gladsheim" are living in 3 tents, presenting historical interactive demonstrations cooking, baking flat bread, leather making, Viking board games, Viking weapons & Sword fight demos; Two Longship’s members present their 22' Faering 4 oared boat, sharing info on Viking boats, navigation.
Sat 12-1 & Sun 1-2 = Saga teller Lynn Noel as "Gudrid" share snippets of Vinland & Eric the Red sagas, singing & playing Dulcimer;
Sat 2-3 & Sun 3-4 ="Viking sites & Museums" of Canada, British Isles, Scandinavia = Visual presentation by Lynn Noel; Demos of Norwegian Fjörd horses, a rare 4,000 year old breed; Fairfield Gaelic Highland Bagpipes mini band preforms Saturday ONLY 3-4, Kubb games to view, play & purchase; Sons of Norway, Rosemaler, Woodcarver, “Hans Kringler Scandinavian Baker” serving Danish, Kringle, Kransekaka,Organic Tea, Scandinavian Gift vendors, Food vendors.
