The Swedish community of Chicago is organizing a concert to support the Haitian quake relief effort. The concert will feature renowned Swedish saxophonist Johan Stengård and takes place at 7 p.m. Friday, February 26, at the Swedish American Museum, 5211 N. Clark St. Joining the museum as co-sponsor are the Consulate General of Sweden, SACC Chicago, North Park University and SWEA Chicago. Brunk Industries is a corporate sponsor.
Stengård, born in Stockholm, is regarded as one of the premiere saxophone players of Sweden. Examples of Stengård’s musical artistry may be heard at www.myspace.com/johanstengard. Financial contributions toward the Haiti Relief Fund in any amount may be made at the concert.
