Hejsan, the Swedish American Museum's after-school program, is held the first and third Thursday of each month from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. This term Hejsan will focus on children's literature. Below is the complete schedule for the spring:

April 17: Pelles New Suit by Elsa Beskow (Illustrating with Fabric)
May 1: The Fox Hunt by Sven Nordqvist (Origami Foxes)
May 15: Reaching for the Moon by Buzz Aldrin (Moon Painting)
June 5: Hiccup the Seasick Viking by Cressida Cowell (Viking Medallion)
June 19: The Man Who Knew Better Scandinavian Folk Tale (Making Butter)
This program is designed for children ages 5 to 10, where they learn about particular topics in Swedish-American culture and make themed crafts. Younger children are welcome under the supervision of an adult. Cost: $1 per child. Reservations are recommended and can be made via email (snyman@samac.org).
