Porsche tie-up proves a coup

iwc watch price THE first Aquatimer diving watch appeared in 1967, almost 50 years ago, when scuba diving was getting popular. But it was only after a tie-up with Porsche, in particular the 1982 launch of Ocean 2000 designed by Ferdinand A Porsche, designer of the legendary Porsche 911 sports car, that IWC really made its mark in underwater timepieces.
cheap iwc watches Marketed as "the first Porsche that can dive", Ocean 2000 is much in demand by collectors today. It has at least two pioneering features that are common today in diving watches - a light but strong titanium case, designed to withstand pressure of up to 2,000 metres deep - 10 times that of the first range of Aquatimers.
cheap iwc watches "It was the first series-produced diver's watch in titanium with tested pressure-resistance to 200 bar, which is equivalent to a depth of 2,000 m," IWC says.
iwc watch Ocean 2000 was also a milestone in the development of diving watches, because of its austere functional design and screw-in crown with triple sealing.
