Anders Wilhelm Jonsson and always known as William ("Bill") Johnson after arriving from Halmstad in 1910 at the age of 18. He was the eighth surviving child of Anders and Kirstin and the youngest son. His father was 58 in 1892 when he was born. He learned the machinist trade and joined two older brothers (August and Johann) and sister Augusta in America. He found the Swedish Community in Chicago after an initial stop in Pittsburgh where Johann worked. Greta Elizabeth Petrovna Maria Froling was born to Peter and Anna Charlotta Nilsson Froling in Odensvi (Smaland) in 1898 and immigrated to the Chicago area at the age of 16 in 1914 where she joined her older sister Elin who had immigtrated in 1911. Following the custom of so many imigrants, Greta angicanized her first name and became Margaret Froling and found work as a domestic.
