Myths are designed to help us understand ourselves, our society and our relationships
to both ourselves and each other. These new figurative paintings by Brandon Kralik,
collectively called ?Optimyths?, now on display at Galleri Duerr in Stockholm, are representative of the new myth. That is the myth of harmony and hope that we must have in order to survive the situations that we as human beings find ourselves in. We are precariously perched at the edge of the metaphorical canyon and these paintings are here to help guide us, to help us maintain our balance on a daily basis. This is the Power of Painting!
Since moving to Scandinavia from the United States his work has focused on universal images and myths. His international themes have attracted the interest of various groups, collector?s and organizations. He is especially interested in using his paintings as a means of strengthening the bond between people and the environment, of showing what unites us, what we have in common and by reminding us of our relation to the great mysteries of life.
Brandon Kralik's work is exhibited internationally and can be found in the collections of publisher Eric Rhoads, Austin, Texas, Länsstyrelsen in Jönköping, Sweden, HRH Crown Princess Victoria Bernadotte of Sweden, Prince Daniel Westling of Sweden and the former US Ambassador to Sweden, Mathew Barzun, Steven Tyler, Carlos Santana and more.
