The American Swedish Institute invites you to join us on the grounds of the historic Turnblad Mansion for a very special open house weekend of fun, food, and free tours.
Saturday, October 8, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Sunday, October 9, noon - 8 p.m.
We'll open our gates for an outdoor festival to celebrate being one of 25 finalist historic sites in the Twin Cities competing for a significant preservation grant.
Voting is happening right now through October 12 at: https://www.facebook.com/PartnersinPreservation?sk=app_141057402657034
Anyone who has an interest in preserving Swedish heritage in America and the beautiful Turnblad Mansion in Minneapolis is encouraged to vote!
The weekend will feature jazz by the Travis Anderson Trio (Sun. only), an autumn fire pit, organic Swedish-style hotdogs, fun children's activities, and tours of select spaces in the Turnblad Mansion and the construction site of the Nelson Cultural Center. See what's new in the Museum Shop, and learn how your votes can help us win funds for further renovations of our historic castle. Please note: Due to ongoing construction, this event is not wheelchair accessible.
