The Life of Eric Berglund, Bishop Hill Immigrant in the Civil War. On Saturday, May 12, 2012, the Swedish American Historical Society of Wisconsin, Inc. invites you to a presentation by Author Martha Bergland on the life of Eric Berglund, who immigrated to Bishop Hill from Sweden with his parents. He fought in the Civil War and went on to be the first West Point graduate of Swedish birth. His interesting life will be the focus of Ms. Bergland’s lecture at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Redemption Lutheran Church, 4057 North Mayfair Road (Hwy. 100, just north of Capitol Dr.) Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
