Play TIPS Promenad at Frandsen Park

We R Able invites area residents to enjoy a Saturday morning at the Dennis Frandsen Park west of Rush City, on June 9th or July 14th. From 10:30 to 11:30 teacher Kriste Ericsson will be on hand to lead TIPS Promenad, a type of scavenger hunt that originated in Sweden for families and individuals.

To participate, everyone picks up a TIPS sheet at the beginning, which shows where to look for a series of questions in multiple-choice format. After moving through the park, marking the correct answers, and enjoying nature, participants return to the starting point to check in. Modest prizes are awarded to those who have the most correct answers.

There is a small fee to participate, and pre-registration is recommended to help facilitate the organization of the event. For more information and to register, call 320-358-1220. The park is located at 1331 North Lake Drive, Braham, five miles west of Rush City on County Road 1 and then two miles west on County Road 2.

This activity is made possible in part through a grant from the East Central Energy Operation Round Up. Coordinator Valorie Arrowsmith says, “We R Able provides programs for adults with disabilities for four-school districts from Pine City to Chisago Lakes. All programs are accessible and also open to the general public.”
