Swedish pianist and artistic director Per Tengstrand – now in his third season of musical programming at Scandinavia House – performs a series of concerts with distinguished guest musicians. The series highlights the repertoire of Scandinavian chamber music and its composers.

Held in the 3rd floor galleries of Scandinavia House, the series’ season begins with some of the most beautiful music written for piano, featuring Per Tengstrand and including Franz Schubert’s Four Impromptus, Op. 90, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Twelve Variations on Ah vous dirai-je, Maman (Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star).

Icelandic cellist and former ASF Fellow Sæunn Thorsteinsdóttir returns to Scandinavia House, this time with two phenomenal string colleagues – violinist Owen Dalby and violist Meena Bhasin – joining pianist Per Tengstrand in a concert of works including Robert Schumann’s Fantasy Pieces for Cello and Piano, Op. 73, Franz Schubert’s String Trio in B flat major, D. 471, and Johannes Brahms’ Piano Quartet in G minor, Op. 25.

The season concludes with a star on violin: Soovin Kim was the first American to win the Paganini competition (1996) and has toured the world since. The concert includes works for solo violin by J.S.
