The moss-covered stone walls of Småland are a testament to an era of profound change in Swedish history.

Today, the forest has reclaimed the walls, which stand as a memorial to a pivotal moment in Swedish history, when one third of the population at that time left to try their luck in the New World, creating a Swedish diaspora in the Americas.
