The North Dakota Chautauqua is presenting a lecture by Dr. Jim Kaplan, Professor Emeritus of French at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Dr. Kaplan will feature "Jar City" by Icelandic author Arnaldur Indridason, "Redbreast" by Norwegian author Jo Nesbo and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" by Swedish author Stieg Larsson. Reading these novels of crimes and the detectives that solve them is a great way to gain an up close and personal view of the real life of Scandinavians today.
