Join the American Swedish Historical Museum's Genealogy Club as they discuss the latest research and techniques for finding your Swedish ancestors.

We are honored to have the ASHM Board Member Bo Bergqvist speak to our Club about the Military Allotment System in Sweden. Mr Bergqvist was drafted for mandatory military service when he was 19 years old. When he left Sweden in 1985, he was a Second Lieutnant (Fänrik) in the Swedish Artillery. He is a graduate of Gothenborg University and a former executive with SKF USA Inc.

There will also be a short meeting and a chance for individual research assistance in our Museum's library at the conclusion of the meeting. This is an opportunity to learn about our ancestors who served in the Swedish military, their duties and their daily lives. Please join us!
