Join us as Laurie Jacobi–one of the designers featured in our current exhibit Dressing Swedish–discusses how she, as a first generation Swedish-American designer, is influenced by her own Swedish heritage. This is a personal story of her own journey and how it brought her to the work she does today with production artist Mary Jane Miller. A traditional Swedish meal of pancakes and soup will be served. Cost for the dinner and lecture is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Reservations can be made online at the Swedish American Museum's website. Please contact us via email (museum@samac.org) or by phone at 773.728.8111 with any questions.

Laurie Jacobi is a storyteller in wool. Her unique blanket, rug and clothing designs are inspired by legends of nature and have been shown at the Swedish American Museum, American Swedish Institute, Swedish Embassy in Washington, D.C., and Nordic Heritage Museum. A sampling of her pieces featuring natural fibers and the highest quality craftsmanship will be available for sale at this event.
