When Alfred Lunt purchased land in Genesee Depot in 1914, the first structure built was a Swedish-style hunting lodge. Spending childhood time in Finland with the Swedish family of his stepfather introduced him to a lifetime love of Swedish architecture and décor. As Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne expanded the property, Scandinavian influence could be seen in various parts of their home.
A representative of this National Historic Landmark will introduce us to the Lunts, the history of Ten Chimneys and Alfred’s Swedish interest at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Redemption Lutheran Church, 4057 North Mayfair Road (Hwy. 100, just north of Capitol Dr.) Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. This event is free and open to the public. A coffee hour will follow. Visit us at www.sahswi.org or call 414-352-7890 for further information.
