Celebrate summer's favorite tradition at ASI’s 2014 Midsommar Celebration – a family-friendly day full of music, dancing, and much more! Join in traditional Swedish Midsommarstång (Midsummer-pole) raising, singing and dancing at 11:30 a.m., or for singing and dancing at 1:30p.m. or 3:30p.m.
Performances by the ASI Spelmanslag, Kisarit Finnish American Folk Dancers, Minnesota Scandinavian Ensemble, Nordic Bees, Diane Jarvi, Ellinor & Leonor and more!
Come hungry as FIKA will be serving traditional Midsommar fare including herring plates, Swedish-style hot dogs, and ice cream! Day highlights include slöjd (handcraft) demonstrations, flower head-wreath making, face painting, storytelling, outside games and nature play activities.
TICKETS: Free for ASI members and kids 5 and under; nonmembers: $10 adults, $5 ages 6–18. Advance tickets are available in person at ASI or on the day of the event.
