This fascinating tour starts in the mid-1800s in Sweden and takes the visitor on a journey from Sweden to the New World, providing insights into the struggles and triumphs of Swedish immigrant life in Chicago. We meet Stina Olofsdotter, whose son is leaving Sweden with his family in 1868, Karl Karlsson and his family who emigrated in 1893, and Elin and Birgitta Hedman, who arrived at Ellis Island in 1924.
