As part of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra's first Interplay Festival, London-based American writer, Candace Allen, will be speaking on the topic of Class, Race and Classical Music with special attention to its Swedish context.

Candace Allen is the author of Soul Music The Pulse of Race and Music and a novel based on the life of trumpeter player Valaida Snow, contributes frequent cultural commentary to the Guardian and Independent newspapers as well as the BBC.

The lecture will be preceded by a concert beginning at 18:00 and will be delivered in English.
