Join us on November 4 for a talk with ASF Visiting Lecturer Silje Solheim Karlsen on identity in contemporary Smi literature!
In Norwegian/Smi author Kathrine Nedrejords critically acclaimed novel The Smi Problem (2024), we meet Marie, who has long hidden her Smi identity. Through an intense journey in both history and geography, the novel explores what it means to be Smi and what it means to be a woman. Dr. Karlsens lecture will focus on Nedrejords novel, and particularly address existential questions surrounding the process of finding and acknowledging ones identity.
