Feeling a chill this winter? The perfect way to warm up includes a hot bowl of Swedish pea soup at the American Swedish Historical Museum! ASHM continues our tradition of the annual Pea Soup Dinner hosted by The Pea Soup Committee on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 5:00 pm.
Ärtsoppa, or Swedish yellow pea soup, is the traditional Thursday night supper in Sweden during the winter that dates back to the medieval period. In more modern times, pea soup is served regularly during the winter in restaurants and homes and is a common Thursday school lunch in Sweden, often accompanied by pancakes.
ASHM’s Pea Soup Dinner is served with sharp Swedish cheese, mustard, and bread, with Swedish pancakes and coffee for dessert. There will also be a cash bar. Gather with friends and family to enjoy time together at the Museum. Don’t miss out on this delightful meal!
Tickets are $30/museum members and $35/non-members. Reservations are necessary by January 26.
