Expatriate Chinese classical dancers formed Shen Yun (divine beauty) in 2006 in New York because the Chinese government refused to allow their performances.
These very talented dancers, who study ten years to be certified, have gotten wow reviews throughout the USA and in 29 other countries for their spectacular shows depicting 5000 years of Chinese history. Their story telling gentle eloquence including incredible flips and leaps are accompanied by an outstanding orchestra featuring both Chinese and Western musical instruments. Tickets are available between April 4-7 at www.shenyun.com/Stockholm where you can also see a short video as well as further information.
Richard Chamberlain, the veteran screen and stage actor, says:
?It's wonderful, absolutely wonderful. The dancers are terrific, the colors, the background... it's kind of a window into another culture that I find very interesting... It was amazing watching the dancers appear to leap into the backdrop and fly into the air or dive into the sea.?
