In the year 2026, the American Swedish Historical Museum marks a singular and momentous occasion: the centennial anniversary of its founding.

In celebration of this extraordinary milestone, we invite you to step into an unforgettable evening at the Centennial Gala, a once-in-a-century celebration that promises elegance, inspiration, and lasting memories. Held within the Museum’s iconic setting, the evening will bring together distinguished guests, patrons, and partners for a program that reflects on the past while looking boldly toward the future.

A highlight of the evening will be a thoughtfully curated culinary experience. From passed hors d’oeuvres to an exquisite three-course dinner, each dish will be inspired by historic recipes spanning the last century. This menu will offer guests a rare opportunity to quite literally taste popular culture over time. The evening will also feature live music from Oskar Stenmark, dancing with music from DJ Robert Drake, and exclusive auction experiences, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere from the first toast to the final dance.

The Gala will also mark the beginning of the second century of collecting for ASHM with an announcement of the first gifts to the Centennial Legacy Collection. These objects are being donated by influential Nordic Americans who have been part of the Museum’s past and will now help shape its collection for the future.

More than an evening of celebration, the Centennial Gala plays a vital role in supporting the Museum’s future. Proceeds will directly benefit the Centennial improvement projects, funding critical initiatives in accessibility, preservation, safety, and visitor experience, ensuring the Museum continues to thrive for generations to come.

Whether you've been part of the Museum for decades or are joining us for the first time, we would love to celebrate this milestone with you
