Vasa Park’s Midsummer Festival is a traditional Scandinavian family celebration of the start of summer. This year’s festival is a celebration of the 89nd anniversary of this event at Vasa Park.

The traditions at Vasa Park’s Midsummer Festival include a parade of costumed folk dancers and musicians, a folk dancing performance around a flower covered midsummer pole.
- The main Midsummer program starts at 12:15 p.m.
- Come early for a hearty Swedish pancake breakfast served at the outdoor kitchen from 9 a.m.-noon. Cost is $10/adults and $8/children 12 and under.
- Available from noon-6 p.m.: hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled salmon and salmon caesar salad.
You will also find a delightful coffee garden with homemade baked goods and coffee and a beer garden serving domestic and microbrews.
- Free pony rides and floral crown making for kids from 10 a.m.–noon.
- Free cotton candy, free popcorn, free bounce house, free face painting, and a tumble bus for all the children to enjoy.
- Traditional children’s races and games start at 2:30 p.m.
- The famous Pickled Herring Band will entertain us from 3 p.m.–6 p.m. near the beer garden tent.
- The playground, swimming beach and waterslides are open all day long for your enjoyment.
