The original work of three innovative and talented Swedish artists - Anette Lillhammar, Lizz Sandelin and Susan Lidström - will be on display at Agora Gallery's Enigmatic Visions exhibit.

Enigmatic Visions: An Exhibition of Elusive Energy
In the exhibition Enigmatic Visions, artists from around the world present abstract and figurative two-dimensional works that use color and composition to tell extraordinary stories about the world around us. With practiced hands and keen talent, the artists featured in this exhibition create truly astonishing energies in their works, whether fiery and warm, cool and desolate, or lively and fun. The works utilize everything from spray paint to cement, expertly applied in the artists’ individual quests for truth.

The exhibition opens on September 16 and will run until October 6. The opening reception will take place Thursday, September 17, from 6-8 PM. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About Anette Lillhammar
Swedish artist Anette Lillhammar unearths her subject matter from the energy of her subconscious, practicing meditation before commencing any creative work. She developed her painting principles from the ancient Vedic scribes from India. “[The scribes] tell us that just as a seed knows it will become a flower, so do we have all knowledge of ourselves and life within us,” says Lillhammar. This principle directly influences the artist’s conviction to paint without a plan. As a professional nurse, massage therapist, yoga instructor, and homeopathic therapist, Lillhammar approaches treatment with the same spirituality and good-naturedness that influences her artwork.

About Lizz Sandelin
From surreal landscapes to graphite portraits, Lizz Sandelin approaches her work with a sense of adventure and exploration. A product of the artist's free spirit, Sandelin’s work lives in the present, reflecting her momentary impressions. Sandelin's goal is to create a body of work that is unpredictable and open-minded. A busy mother of five, Sandelin is often influenced by her love of fitness and sports, music, emotion, and her family. She wants her work to inspire people to believe in themselves and stand up for who they are and what they desire.

About Susan Lindström
Susan Lindström works from an art studio in Storjola, a small village that sits in a mountain valley in northern Sweden. Storjola, appropriately, translates to “Big Earth,” and it is within this powerfully-named locale that Lindström draws her inspiration from the natural world, working her magic with both oil pastels on paper and oil on canvas. Lately, Lindström has been working with a sequence in oil on large-size canvas to paint closeups of campfires with an aim to capture the experience of fire gazing in pictorial form. “I want to capture nature in transformation,” she says. “I want to transport us back to the beginning of man, when we gathered around the fire telling stories of the nature around us.”
