Guests of Honor: Mats Zuccarello and Dr. Siri Hustvedt
Mats Zuccarello is a Norwegian professional ice hockey winger currently playing for the New York Rangers of NHL. Mats has agreed to a four-year, $18 million contact worth $4.5 million annually that extends through to the 2018-19 season. He finished fifth on the team in scoring, having the second-most goals in the NHL, as the Rangers won the Presidents' Trophy with the League's best regular season record.

Dr. Siri Hustvedt is the award winning author of six novels, a work of non-fiction and three collections of essays on subjects in the humanities and the sciences. Siri's family roots are 100 percent Norwegian; she visits Norway frequently, spent a few years there as a child and returned to Bergen after high school to complete examen artium at Katedralskolen (The Cathedral School). Siri is fluent in Norwegian with a distinct Bergen accent. Her work has been translated into over 30 languages. The Blindfold (1992), The Enchantment of Lily Dahl (1996), What I Loved (2003), The Sorrows of an American (2008), The Summer Without Men (2011) The Blazing World (2014).

Cultural Awardee: Hanne Stovring
The funds raised in this event help support artists with ties to Scandinavia through its Cultural Grant Program. This year's cultural award recipient is Hanne Stovring. Hanne belongs to a young generation of painters of Bornholm, Denmark. Hanne is working for SMK — the Danish National Gallery in New York — where she's responsible for leading and developing AFSMK (American Friends of SMK), an organization and friendship scheme which aims to strengthen the ties between SMK and its American friends and audiences.

Hanne created something special for the ball. Guests will have an opportunity to bid on this at our silent auction.
