Stig Lindberg, one of Sweden’s foremost Modernist designers, was born in 1916 and passed away in 1982. To celebrate the 100 anniversary of his birth, a number of events take place in Sweden this year, including a travelling show that premieres at the Porcelain Museum in Gustavsberg.

At the Röhsska Museum, a small selection of Lindberg’s designs as well as his studio pieces will be shown during the summer. In six vitrines, various examples are gathered of Lindberg’s design in porcelain and plastic, his stoneware and tin-glazed earthenware, and his work as an illustrator. The objects come from the collection of the museum as well as from private collections.

On the same floor as the temporary display you’ll find the permanent design history exhibition which also features several works by Lindberg, including his unique, monumental “Batalj” (Battle) wall decoration from 1966-67.
