The U.S. premier of Malin Bång's "Hav" ("The Sea") will be sung in Swedish by the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus at the historic, nearly acoustic-perfect Basilica of St. Josaphat.

The chorus performs with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra under the direction of the MSO's Assistant Conductor Yaniv Dinur, the works of Wagner, Brahms, Messiaen and Braun as well as Bång.

Swedish composer Malin Bång, 42, lives in Stockholm, and is the composer in residence and a founding member of the Curious Chamber Players. Her work includes music for instrumental ensembles, orchestra, staged music, electronic music and instrumental performance pieces. Lately she has specifically explored the mixed, amplified instrumental ensemble extended with sound objects. www.malinbang.com
