A SERIOUS GAME (DEN ALLVARSAMMA LEKEN)
Directed by Pernilla August, in Swedish with English subtitles
Lead actress Karin Franz Körlof expected in attendance for Q&A at all screenings

A SERIOUS GAME is an adaptation of Hjalmar Söderberg's classic romantic novel from 1912.
It's the story of a young couple, the journalist Arvid Stjärnblom and Lydia Stille, who fall madly in love. They are both drawn to the dream of pure, great and untainted love. Yet, the dream demands greater sacrifice than they could ever imagine. A passionate and fiery love story about the choices we have, the ones we don't, the choices we make and the consequences that follows.

A MAN CALLED OVE (EN MAN SOM HETER OVE)
Directed by Hannes Holm, in Swedish and Persian with English subtitles

The film A MAN CALLED OVE (Rolf Lassgård) is based on an adaptation of Fredrik Backman's popular novel. It's a heartwarming tale about a stubborn, short tempered man with steadfast beliefs, strict routines and the feeling that everyone around him is an idiot. He hates Volvos and dogs that pee on the paving stones. He is also at the end of his rope. At 59, the widower is ready to end his days, but his new neighbor, pregnant Parvaneh (Bahar Pars), moves in with her husband and children. She is determined to make friends with Ove and little by little, she manages to help him to love, not loathe, his neighbors, an adorable stray cat, and himself.
A Man Called Ove is the most successful Swedish film of the last 32 years with a box office gross of more than $20.5 million in Sweden alone. A Man Called Ove is Sweden's official submission for this year's Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
