The Elevator Nobody Choir gives another inspiring performance of traditional Swedish songs and dances, as well as some modern compositions.
The group of student singers hail from Hisingen, an underprivileged area of Göteborg, Sweden. The name "Elevator Nobody" is a play on "Hisingen," with Hiss=elevator and ingen=nobody.
In an interview with Nordstjernan, choir director Sonja Bjurdell said, "These students don't think they can achieve anything. We try to show them that there are ways away from drugs and a criminal future. The choir is one way to give them hope for their future and the possibility to choose their own destiny."
Admission is FREE, but donations are welcome.
