MUSIC - Northern Exposure: Rediscovered Gems of the Scandinavian Baroque

Joshua Romatowski, baroque flute; Tekla Cunningham, baroque violin; Henry Lebedinsky, harpsichord

Explore the world of rarely-heard instrumental music from the courts and salons of 18th-century Scandinavia with performers from the regional music collective, Early Music Underground. Enjoy chamber music by Johan Helmich Roman, called “the Father of Swedish Music,” Norwegian virtuoso violinist Johan Henrik Freithoff and Danish child prodigy Johann Palschau. Baroque flautist Joshua Romatowski, baroque violinist Tekla Cunningham, and harpsichordist Henry Lebedinsky will be your guides on this unique and exciting journey north, bringing you into the music through insightful commentary about the works, the lives of the composers, and the social and political world in which they lived.

Tickets available with and without smorgasbord at https://nordicmuseum.org/events/133474
