Introduction to Scandinavian Wooden Figure Carving with Bill Jaeger

Get started in this popular Nordic handcraft by taking a one-day workshop with American Swedish Institute's popular Scandinavian wooden figure carving instructor, Bill Jaeger.

This beginning class offers a chance to get an overview of carving and to try your hand at a simple project, with additional attention from Bill.

Participants carve in the Scandinavian style using the instructor’s original work as a basis. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. Students must have adequate hand dexterity and control. If you have questions about what is needed, please ask your instructor on the first day of class.

Carving tools are required, and available for purchase in class. Beginning carving kits are $65 and include a carving knife, glove and one figure blank; materials fees are payable to the instructor.

Instructor: Bill Jaeger
Cost:
$50 / members; $60 / non-members
