Swedish musicians and artists Jockum Nordström and Joakim Åhlund have been playing and recording together since early 2007. They describe their music as neither jazz nor blues, but something in between, something you might find in a corner in a obscure record shop, or in their fantasies. Rock, blues, jazz and visual art come together in their recordings, which include a mash-up of samples and field recordings.
The two have released three records including Dracula's Son (Junk Yard Connections) and Paddan & Hunden (Kning Disk).
(Jockum Nordström's first U.S. solo art exhibition opens at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans on March 22.)
