On the centenary of Ingmar Bergman's birth, Scandinavia House honors the late artist with screenings of his most acclaimed films.
"Ingmar Bergman: A Tribute in Film" delivers a culmination of cinematic works that cemented the Swedish director's reputation in America and introduced the theme of existentialism to the worldwide film-making industry.
Organized by Laurence Kardish, former Senior Curator of Film at MoMA, titles include Smiles of a Summer Night, Wild Strawberries, The Magician, The Virgin Spring, Through A Glass Darkly, Persona, Ingmar Bergman Through The Choreographer's Eye, At Noon Feel A Darkness, I Remember You, and The Swan.
