Our popular Summer Jazz Series returns to Scandinavia House! This summer we’re presenting performances from some of Scandinavia’s most talented young jazz musicians, composers, and singers from June 20 through July 11.
Join us for a reception on the Volvo Hall terrace starting at 7 PM, followed by the concert at 7:30 PM.

Swedish reedplayer Thomas Backman joins us on saxophone and clarinet with Josefine Lindstrand (keyboard, vocals), Oskar Schönning (bass, guitar), and Julia Schabbauer (drums, vocals), with original compositions that blend elements of bebop and free jazz with hip hop, indie pop, and chamber music for a pioneering and unique take on the jazz genre. On this evening, they’ll be performing selections from Backman’s critically acclaimed debut album Did You Have A Good Day, David?.
