Join ACS in the spirit of royal celebration for a special afternoon at the world's most genuine early opera experience at Drottningholms Slottsteater. We have organized a full afternoon of celebration starting at 13.15 with a guided tour (English language) of this historical theater which is one of the oldest in the world.
Following the one-hour tour at the theater, you can enjoy a saunter around the magical palace grounds and walk across the street for a private reception starting at 14.30 at Kvarnbacken 1, one of the oldest homes in the famous architectural area known as Malmen. Board Member and opera buff, Martin Dworén, will provide a brief historical introduction to the performance, la finta giardiniera. Drinks and snacks available.
At 15.45 we meet back at the Theater foyer in preparation for the 16.00 performance of Mozart's la finta giardiniera (1774) this season performed by young soloists from Stockholm's Operahögskolan.
If you would like to make the afternoon into an even fuller experience, you are welcome to board the 100-year-old steamer from the city to Drottningholm Palace, a delightful 50-minute return trip with restaurant facilities on-board. Arrangements for the steamer trip are to be made independently by members and are not included in our royal celebration package price of 540 kr.
