The Röhsska Museum of Fashion, Design and Arts is opening an exhibition on honor-related violence. Called "Honor-related violence—only an issue for the others" (Hedersrelaterat våld – en fråga för dom andra?) the exhibition covers art photographs by renowned photographer Elisabeth Ohlson Wallin and other art work by Kajsa Haglund, Christina ”Cho” Nylund. Part of the exhibition was curated by staff from the Discrimination office in Uppsala with help from academic researchers.
Opening hours: Tuesday 12-20, Wednesday - Friday 12-17, Saturday - Sunday 11-17.
There exist no official statistics on the area of honor related violence but the clash between the open and free society of Sweden with cultures that represent a much more inhibited or discriminating view of women or children has created a new form of violence in the country.
