National Theatre will present in collaboration with The Donmar Warehouse, the artistic director Michael Grandages set of Shakespeare's King Lear.
When Lear's world falls apart, he must question everything he ever believed.
King Lear is one of the West's greatest literary masterpiece. The play examines the deeply human issues of love and duty, power and loss, good and evil. Derek Jacobi (TV series I, Claudius) and Michael Grandage work together again, after the success of The Tempest, Don Carlos and Twelfth Night.
Grandage's creative team - Christopher Oram, Neil Austin and Adam Cork won the Tony Award for the group's Broadway hit Red.
