Join Dr. Thor Mednick (Associate Professor of Art History, University of Toledo) as he considers the paintings of Ejnar Nielsen (Danish, 1872-1956). He will argue that in Nielsen�s work, the quality and character of human consciousness is primarily determined by the mind. From Nielsen�s studies of Dagmar Andersen (a girl with vision impairment from his home county) to his reflections on death, Ejnar Nielsen�s world is one in which sight and touch are not entirely physical senses, but autonomic, �sthetic, and emotional projections of the human mind.
